Boeing Global Services is hiring Product Managers within its Boeing Vancouver sites to help design, develop and optimize the future of analytics-driven products for the aviation industry.  You will be involved in all phases of the solution innovation, development and delivery lifecycle within the Digital Aviation & Analytics business as it innovates and optimizes these solutions to enable the world’s flying fleet.
As part of the team, you will be working with internal business partners and outside customers to identify and define business problems, grow and apply aviation domain knowledge and communicate the value of solutions.  As a Product Manager, you will be empowered to drive the business strategy and product definition of analytics-oriented products aligned within the Boeing AnalytX brand.  You will define the strategic product roadmaps by evaluating market opportunities, analyzing customers & user needs and studying industry trends to identify and prioritize strategic developments and partners.  You will be a key leader within Integrated Product Teams throughout product lifecycle execution.
Given the tight coupling with data analytics teams for this role, there will also be opportunities to support data strategies and digital transformation within Boeing Services and our Aviation customers.
The positions will report within the Commercial Services Analytics Portfolio organization.  As the cross-functional teams and Boeing’s customers are located globally, the position will involve some travel, particularly to the USA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Formulates and reviews short and long-range business cases, plans, goals, and objectives for specific products or product-lines
  • Conducts competitive product analysis and market research of user needs, product fulfillment of these needs and opportunities for innovation
  • Determines the business case, strategic fit, profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements
  • Provides leadership to Integrated Product Team and drives progress within the Solution Lifecycle Process
  • Collaborate with technical product owners and user experience professionals to translate business objectives and high-level requirements into detailed user stories and product designs
  • Develops marketing & implementation strategies and tactics to ensure effective product adoption, working closely with marketing, communications and implementation teams for a specific product or product area
  • Attends trade shows, industry conferences and customers/partners meetings
  • Work as part of the agile team to integrate design approaches on large scale projects, ensuring coherency across product lines and strategic initiatives
  • Promote the benefits of modern product management and innovation methodologies to support the effectiveness of product development overall
Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills:
  • You are customer-obsessed and data-driven
  • Passionate about product innovation and creating industry level change
  • You have experience working on analytics-oriented products within an Agile development environment
  • Familiarity performing value analysis, developing business cases and building strategy alignment
  • You have experience in assessing product & user data to drive product goals
  • Experience operating in an environment with remote teams and various organizational boundaries is an asset
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in articulating product vision and persuading on product benefits
  • Familiarity with heavy-asset industries and aviation in particular is an asset
  • Comfortable working with minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to addressing business problems
  • Serves as subject matter expert to management and for the organization on product management methods and approaches, and on relevant product/industry domains
  • Degree in a relevant field of study preferred
  • Typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
