Summary:
Responsible for Implementation of Digital Aviation solutions.  Manages customer facing employees and contractors performing program and project management. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for implementation activities, provides management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of program management approaches and processes. Manages subordinate staff to include recruiting, training, performance and compensation management, motivating, delegating and monitoring results. 


Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all contractual Digital Aviation Implementation projects, including the responsibility to ensure that project budgets are on track, deliverables met, and customer success is achieved.
  • Manages subordinate staff.  Forecasts resource needs and makes hiring decisions. Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provides on-going developmental feedback. Makes compensation recommendations in regards to hiring salaries and salary review actions.  Recognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce. Enforces company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc.
  • Delivers Professional Services components in sales efforts.
  • Ensures compliance of and contribution to global standards and processes within Global Solutions & Support and Digital Aviation.
  • Works closely with counterparts in the GS&S organization to ensure a good staffing utilization across the globe.
  • Establishes and maintains solid working relationships with internal and external partners such as Product Development, Portfolio Management, Finance, Supplier Management, Marketing, Sales and external service providers.
Education/Experience: 
Bachelor’s degree in related filed with 10+ or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management Professional certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience managing world-wide customer implementation projects by effectively planning, scheduling, controlling, and bringing to closure multiple, small to large, high profile projects.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate organizational units. Knowledge of skills and abilities required by subordinate employees to accomplish organizational responsibilities.
  • Highly effective ability to direct, delegate and ensure performance of assigned responsibilities and tasks as a team leader.  Demonstrated proficiency in leading cross-functional teams on successful execution and delivery of complex projects. 
  • Experience with communication of project health and status with project teams, stakeholders and sponsors, and senior and executive level management.
  • Ability to accomplish results through subordinate supervisors and/or employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. Determines and establishes the organization structure of centralized functions and units.
  • Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long term goals of the organization.
  • Frequent contacts with managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements or contractual clarifications.
