Summary:
Provides expert quality management system guidance to other Boeing organizations which enables the business to develop, maintain, and improve their business management, while achieving their business goals. Develops comprehensive software quality audit and process improvement project plans to ensure quality management requirements are integrated into the organization’s business.

Essential Duties:
  • Leads audits (i.e. product, system, and process) to determine conformance with standards (e.g., ISO 9001, DO-200A/ ED-76), configuration assurance, related business, regulatory (e.g. FAA Exposition), and customer requirements. Serves as the lead point of contact for Digital Aviation Product Assurance Jeppesen during external audits.
  • Leads non-conformance investigations to determine root cause and follow-up on resolution to ensure completion of corrective and preventive actions. Uses the trend analysis information to predict and prevent non-conformance incidences in other organizations and at larger Boeing locations.
  • Works with higher level management to determine need for and implement process improvements impacting multiple organizations and locations.
  • Develops metrics at the corporate level which enables leadership to make informed decisions.
  • Acts as a mentor to other staff members creating and providing education and coaching on Digital Aviation Product Assurance and Jeppesen Corporate Quality Services (e.g., audits and compliance, investigations, software quality continuous improvement, embedded IPT services) and Quality Management principles, requirements, philosophies.
Education/Experience:
Degree in a related field of study and typically 5-10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Regularly contributes to the development of new job practices, software quality assurance techniques, and corporate quality standards. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
  • Performs work with minimal direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Effects of decisions are long lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may result in the significant expenditure of company resources.
  • Serves as subject matter expert to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.
