The Business Consulting department is strengthening the team and is therefore looking for a Engagement Manager


In order to meet an increasing demand, the Business Consulting department is strengthening the team and is therefore looking for three new colleagues.

In short the Business Consulting department’s main role is to guide the customer to get the best possible business value from using our products.

In doing so, the BC has a key role in the pre-sales process. They translate the customer’s challenges into solutions using our products and services and thus proving the business value.

The main tasks of the BC department includes benchmarks and various studies, responding to RFP’s, participating in scoping studies and IQ visits as well as consulting engagements. When working on a pre-sales engagement, the BC is an active part of a team together with sales, and in some cases BC’s are expected to take a leading or coordinating role. BC’s also perform consulting engagements with our customers, assessing, improving or developing their business processes and system installations. We are also speaking partners within Jeppesen and we participate in external conferences. The role will require travel within the EMEA/MEARCA region but potentially also to support in APAC and the Americas.


The engagement manager role


This critical position has responsibility to manage the EMEA region pre-sales support for the Jeppesen Crew, Flight Planning and Operations Portfolio and directly manages 13 Business Consultants in GOT, UK, & Neu Isenburg. 

This position is responsible for the coordination and tasking of all EMEA based Business Consultants (BC), coordinating with Sales and Portfolio to strategically plan customer pre-sales engagements to win customer contracts.

As an engagement manager you are coordinating the daily operations in the BC EMEA team and you are having dialogue with various stakeholders.


Main tasks:

• Coordinates with Domain Practice Leaders and Portfolio managers to deliver high quality technical value analysis and consulting services

• Assists Practice Leaders in developing Long Range Business Plan and Business Goals and Objectives for the region.

• Ensures that engagements meet project budgets, timelines, and deliverables are achieved in collaboration with Practice Leaders, Portfolio Leaders, and Client Management. 

• Develop repeatable processes to enhance the technical value analysis and health check efficiency

• Oversees regional team of consultants and business analysts as location manager.

• Implement program management best practices to ensure performance to plan

• Assist Domain Practice Leaders in developing  customer engagement plans for technical value analysis and consulting services

• Provides development opportunities, coaches, counsels, and mentors to enhance employee performance and capabilities.  Oversees and mentors consultant and business analysts for development to ensure necessary skills are available within the company.  Ensures company rules, policies and procedures are understood and complied with by employees.  Set business goals and objectives for employees.


Key Capability Requirements


• Demonstrated expertise in technical value analysis, operations consulting in Crew, airline operations, flight planning, and navigation domains

• Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with airline operations management executives and internal customers

• Demonstrated ability to manage direct and dotted line resources

• Demonstrated ability to create project work plans that lead to consulting projects staffing requirements and pricing



• Airline experience 

• Working knowledge of Jeppesen flight planning, crew, and navigation tools

• Consulting experience
